CHORALE INTERNATIONALE D'ALBERA

The Choir

THIS IS OUR STORY

The Choir began as a group of English friends who loved to sing.

They performed well-known Christmas songs every year at local Christmas markets. Many of the founder members are now no longer with us but were able to see the choir flourish and grow, with new voices from around the world, into what it is today.

In 2017 the association Chorale Internationale d’Albera was created.

Since then we have had two professional musicians at the helm. One, Sharon, left to go back to her country of origin, Björn is still with us as musical director.  Under his direction the choir has become an accomplished group of friends who sing with enthusiasm, joy and love.

The choir sings many different genres that include jazz, pop, Motown and gospel as well as traditional Christian songs at Christmas.

This is who we are

Members come from different countries: France, Norway, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Belgium… and we welcome everyone who wants to join the choir, no matter singing experience.

We are more than 50 members, approximately 30 singers for each concert.

The choir is based in Montesquieu des Albères.

We sing in English and in French.
